Toss is engineered with an uncompromising on-device privacy architecture. Your physical and digital receipts, purchase history, and spending data belong exclusively to you. All records are stored strictly on your device and are never tracked, monetized, or sold.
When you scan or manually enter receipts, Toss stores store names, purchase dates, item descriptions, prices, totals, return deadlines, and warranty coverage durations.
Storage: All data is stored locally in your device's isolated, sandboxed application directory (via AsyncStorage and the device filesystem). We do not host your financial data on external servers or cloud accounts.
Toss uses stateless computer vision processing to extract merchant names, line items, and totals so you do not have to type them by hand. This processing is completely stateless: receipt images are not logged, shared, or retained by any third party.
Toss schedules offline local notifications (via Android NotificationManager and iOS UserNotifications) to alert you 3 days and 1 day before return windows close. These alerts run completely on your phone without remote push server tracking.
